anzac day - day of remembrance
In the spirit of Anzac, I have included some photographs in this post from both an Australian Anzac Day and also a New Zealand one.  The first 2 images are from Anzac Day in New Zealand last year and are special photographs from my own personal album and in memory of my late father-in-law, Ernie, who passed away last September.   Â
In April 07, my husband and I, travelled to NZ as Ernie had taken very ill and been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and wasn’t expected to last the week.  A man of indominable spirit and determination, as he had participated in Anzac Day dawn services ever since his return from Korea - and there was no way he was going to miss this one!   Supported and surrounded by his family - children, grandchildren and great-grand children - we all marched with him in the parade in the early hours of a cold NZ morning.   It was the most moving and memorable Anzac Day service I had ever attended. The first photo is of Ernie in his wheelchair with 4 of his sons walking beside him. The second photo is of Ernie and his old mates sharing a whiskey back at their RSA after the service.  We were so very pleased to have been able to share this with him, and to be able to capture some special images to look back on.

The photo below is of the eternal flame at Anzac Square, Brisbane.

The photographs below were captured at Cleveland, Redlands.Â

This year we went to the Cleveland Anzac Day March and service, which was beautifully done and wonderful to see so many people taking time for remembrance.  Â

sporting photo in the paper
As mentioned in a previous post, I am photographing the Redlands Rugby Union games this season as I love photographing sporting action.  As I also like to help promote local sporting clubs I am providing them with an image of their choice from each game from my Sport Galleries website. They can then submit the photograph with their match report to the Redlands Times Sports section, as well as use it on their club website.  The photo published this week is of Redlands captain Mitch O’Hara leaping for the ball lifted by brother Reagan O’Hara (left) and Dave Fairley (right):

3 little princesses
Talk about cute! Portrait session today with 3 gorgeous little girls - which started off a bit shy at the beginning until I put some dance music on the stereo and then had to keep up with the fun to capture the girls being themselves ;) The youngest was a little sweetheart and ended up stealing the show - I always love to see kids have a great time during a portrait session - which worked out really well as the mum’s were also after a series of shots that they could use for their scrapbooking projects ;)
